“A guest at” SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG
June 28, 2024
On Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 6:00 pm, the time had finally come. Our trade event “Visiting” took us to SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG, which is located in the VOLLMAR REKLAME AG building at Brunnenwiesenstrasse 25 in 8172 Niederglatt ZH. As a special guest of honor, the Höri trade association witnessed a groundbreaking world first: the presentation of “surface cleaning and treatment of buildings with a drone”.
After a warm welcome from Christian Aeschbach, owner of SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG, we were given a fascinating overview of the history of SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG and its drones. It was extremely interesting to learn about the challenges they had to overcome and the setbacks they had to overcome before the product was finally ready for the market. Initially, the product was not popular or supported by anyone during the development period, but now, after completion, the demand is incredibly high and the price is not even being negotiated.
The core competencies of SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG include surface cleaning, surface treatment and surface inspection. With their commercial work drones, they can process not only vertical but also horizontal exterior surfaces. The technology combines all common procedures in one system. Whether it is high-pressure cleaning, low-pressure coating, spraying technology or osmosis cleaning of glass surfaces – these drones enable extremely efficient cleaning of facades, windows, tiles, stone, roofs and other surfaces, while the employees safely take control from the ground.
We were then given a fascinating tour of the VOLLMAR REKLAME AG building, where we were given an insight into the various techniques used. Vanessa Salerno, co-owner and managing director, explained to those present how vehicle lettering, illuminated advertising and adhesives are developed. We were even able to see live how our advertising banner for the Höri trade association was printed on an impressively large printer. It was particularly fascinating that the colors were irradiated with UV light for quick drying. Our club stickers were printed on another, smaller printer and then carefully cut out round. The art of the cutter required skill and precision to ensure that the stickers could be removed easily.
To round off the tour, we were treated to a captivating live demonstration of the drone. It effortlessly mastered facades up to 30 meters high. To protect our presence, the drone only sprayed the façade with water. With impressive ease, the drone flew up the building facade and then down again row by row. The stability of the drone in the air was amazing. It was pushed and pulled, but always remained hovering precisely at the predefined position in the air. Even gusts of wind are automatically compensated for by the drone without the pilot having to intervene. A special permit is required to operate the drone, as it is operated/developed near the airport. As a special highlight, Moni was even allowed to control the drone herself.
The subsequent aperitif riche, sponsored by SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG, rounded off this balmy summer evening with further interesting discussions. Once again, we would like to thank Christian Aeschbach and his team from SWISS DRONE SERVICES AG from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to be the very first guests ever to be presented with the world’s first “surface cleaning and treatment of buildings with a drone”. We would also like to thank Vanessa Salerno and her team from VOLLMAR REKLAME AG for sponsoring the advertising banners and club stickers.
It was an unforgettable experience for all of us!
